Odisha gets SKOCH Platinum Award for education sector

Odisha gets prestigious SKOCH Platinum Award-2017 Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has won the prestigious 49th SKOCH Platinum Award-2017 for best performance in education sector.

School and Mass Education department of the state government bagged the award for adopting innovative practices in education sector, which were recognised in the national level.

Out of 800 participants in the category of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan under School and Mass Education, Odisha bagged 5 ‘Order of Merit’ awards for Bal Jyoti, child trafficking system, mother tongue based multilingual education, school student’s helpline, seasonal hostel and SMS based monitoring system of mid-day meal project in the state.

The electronic receipt and disbursement system in Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) of Odisha was also conferred with the Smart Governance Award by the SKOCH group.

The electronic receipt and payment platform of IFMS has been acknowledged as a model and officials from many state governments visited Odisha for study.

A team of officers from the Directorate of Treasuries and Inspection received the award in 49th SKOCH summit held at the Constitution Club, New Delhi on September 9.

School and Mass Education Minister Badrinarayan Patra, Finance Minister Sashibhusan Behera and senior officers of the Finance Department met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Secretariat with the award.

Patnaik congratulated them and advised them to pursue the good work to provide better service to the people of the state.
