Cyber Forensic Laboratory to be inaugurated on Nov 22Bhubaneswar: The much awaited Cyber Forensic Laboratory of the state will be inaugurated in the State capital on November 22, informed Santosh Kumar Upadhyay, ADG (Crime Branch).

Upadhyay, while attending the two-day state level specialised training course on cyber crime investigation and forensics at the conference hall of Crime Branch, CID, in Cuttack said that a Cyber Forensic Laboratory in the state capital city will be inaugurated on November 22.

He also stated that all the three proposed Cyber crime Police Station in Berhampur, Rourkela and Sambalpur will be operational from March 2018.

Proposal on setting up of three more Cyber Police Stations in Bhubaneswar, Balasore and Jeypore has been submitted to the state government, he added.

Police DG Dr. RP Sharma ,while inaugurating the event, said, “The specialised training course on Cyber security will help the police officials to get special knowledge and skills on cybercrimes in the state. They will learn how different cybercrimes take place, how to probe them, how to preserve and transmit the seized items to the Forensic Laboratory.”

As many as 90 police personnel took part in the programme.
