Odisha CM reviews Ratha Jatra preparations

Ratha Jatra 2017 Review MeetingPuri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday presided over the last Coordination Meeting for the Raht Jatra 2017 and took stock of arrangements for the big event in Puri. He sought support from all stake holders for the peaceful and smooth conduct of the world famous annual Ratha Jatra.

Senior officials of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) apprised the Chief Minister of the progress of the chariot construction work and other arrangements for the upcoming Ratha Jatra.

Puri Collector Aravind Agarwal informed that the government has taken various step to ensure hassle-free celebration of Ratha Jatra this year, All the works are being executed on a war footing, he said.

Adequate steps have been taken to provide essential services such as uninterrupted electricity supply, water facilities, hygienic food, easy transport etc.

Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Maheswar Mohanty, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Pradip Maharathy, Health & Family Welfare, and Law Minister Pratap Jena, Chief Secretary Aditya Padhi, senior officials of the SJTA, Puri Collector Aravind Agarwal, and senior Sevayats were also present in the meeting.
