Odisha CM Naveen attends anti-Maoist meeting in Delhi Today

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik attends a high-level meeting in New Delhi at Vigyan Bhavan to discuss security issues in the Maoists affected states. The day-long meeting will focus on devising new strategies to fight the Maoist threat.

Patnaik is likely to demand two additional battalions of central forces to deal with the Maoists activities in Odisha during the meeting. Besides, he will also demand better mobile connectivity, road connectivity and infrastructure development in the Mao-affected districts of the state.

The Chief Minster would stress on strengthening interstate coordination during counter-Maoists operations.

Chief Ministers of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh are slated to attend the meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

Union Ministers for Road Transport and Highways, Railways, Civil Aviation, Rural Development, Power, New and Renewable Energy and Telecom will also attend the day-long meeting.
