Odisha CM inaugurates Dhamra Port Phase II expansion

Bhadrak: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the phase II expansion of Dhamra Port, developed by the Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd, (APSEZ) in Bhadrak district of Odisha on Saturday.

Two dedicated Bulk Cargo berths, Fertilizer Cargo Complex and Barge Berth Complex have been added in the expansion of the project.

Addressing on the occasion, Patnaik said, “The industrial park will certainly unleash large scale industrialisation in the area and create employment opportunities in the state.”

The phase II expansion of Dhamra Port will increase the Cargo handling capacity of the port to over 100 million tonne per annum, up from 25 mtpa currently handled. The company deployed more than 3000 manpower with around 88% locals employed for the phase II expansion.

Forest and Environment minister Bijyashree Routray, Commerce and Transport Minister Nrusingha Charan Sahoo, MSME Minister Prafulla Samal, local MLAs, District Collector, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and other dignitaries and company officials were present on the occasion.
