Odisha CM felicitates & wishes happy journey to Haj pilgrims

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday felicitated and wished happy journey to Haj pilgrims of the state who are being their journey tomorrow.

Patnaik, while attending a programme of Haj pilgrims at Jayadev Bhawan here, said that the state government has made all necessary arrangements for the journey of the pilgrims and wished a happy journey.

This year, the State Haj Committee has selected as many as 731 pilgrims (433 men and 298 women) for the annual Haj pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Four senior government officials will also be accompanying the pilgrims to ensure their safety and proper accommodation.

As per the schedule, the pilgrims would leave for Saudi Arabia between July 12 and 29 from Kolkata and return to the state between September 2 and 12 after staying there for 45 days.

A Haj Bhawan is under construction in Pokharipur area in the city to cater all basic needs of the pilgrims.
