Badri PatraBhubaneswar: Odisha government on Monday announced that it is mulling over a change in the Matric examination pattern to curb malpractice and maintain utmost transparency during the exam conducted under the aegis of Board of Secondary Education (BSE).

School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra informed about the new proposal during a Cabinet meeting saying that schools across the state will not be allowed to have centre in their respective schools. However, there will be exam centre within a radius of 5 km from the schools.

“Schools will no more be allowed to have centre for the Matric exams for their own examinees rather for the students of other school(s) so that malpractice can be checked and quality education can be maintained. There will be a change in the exam centre within a distance of 5 km away from the school. If required there may be a swapping of centre between two schools,” said Patra while speaking to the reporters.

A meeting with different teacher associations in this regard will be held soon and a final decision will be taken soon this week, he added.
