BJP, SindhikelaBalangir: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration in front of Sindhikela Community Health Centre (CHC) in the district over the shortages of the doctors and other staff at the CHC.

As a part of its week-long ‘Hak Ra Ladhei Jatra’ (Fight for Right March), the Sindhi Mandal of the saffron party took out a protest march and gheraoed the hospital to press their demand to induct more physicians and other required medical staff in the CHC.

Hundreds of party workers, led by BJP’s State Krushak Morcha President Sibaji Mohanty, joined the protest. Local Zilla Parishad Member Chandrani Nayak was also present in the protest demonstration.

Speaking to Kalinga TV, Mohanty said, “There are only two doctors in Sindikela CHC, whereas 10 posts have been sanctioned for the CHC.”

“Health services in our area have been badly affected due to the shortage of doctors and other medical staff in this CHC for a long time.” he added.

The party also called upon the State Government to fill up the posts of physicians and other staff members in the CHC as soon as possible for the larger interest of the local people.
