Odisha bids adieu to former Governor SC Jamir

Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Governor Senayangba Chubatoshi Jamir, who has recently completed his tenure was given a ceremonial send-off and a guard of honour at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Saturday.

Four times Chief Minister of Nagaland Jamir was accorded with farewell in the presence of State Finance Minister Shashi Bhusan Behera, Rural Development Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh, Bhubaneswar Mayor Anant Narayan Jena and Police Commissioner YB Khurania.

Jamir, who took charge as Odisha Governor on March 21, 2013 delivered his last address at the Odisha Assembly in the budget session on March 20 this year. He has been replaced by Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik who took oath as the acting Govenor of Odisha on March 21, till further arrangement.

Expressing the outgoing Governor’s stay in Odisha during his tenure to be very memorable, the Odisha Finance Minister dubbed him as a very amicable person. The minister wished for his good health and prosperity in future.
