OCA to abide by Lodha Committee recommendations

OCA agrees to abide by Lodha Committee recommendations Cuttack: Officials of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) unanimously agreed to abide by the reforms recommended by the Supreme Court appointed Lodha Committee at the council meeting here today.

The office bearers of OCA also decided to file an affidavit in the Apex Court in this regard in a day or two. This will help the Odisha cricket body to conduct elections for the various posts of office bearers.

According to OCA sources, the election of office bearers is likely to be completed by the end of November.

“We all unanimously agreed to abide by the reforms reommended by the Supreme Court appointed Lodha Committee. We will file an affidavit in this regard in the Supreme Court in a day or two. Then all the by-laws will be changed accordingly as per the Lodha Committee recommendations. So, I think the process will be over by November,” OCA working committee chairman Dhiren Palai informed.

The apex court had ruled that no funds will be released to any state cricket association until they hold elections made it clear that the BCCI and all other state cricket associations are bound to follow the panel’s guidelines.

The meeting also finalized the budget for the upcoming T20 international cricket match to the tune of Rs 4 crore. OCA will organise the India vs New Zealand T-20 match at the Barabati Stadium on November 4 this year.
