PURI TemplePuri: As part of its routine practice to boost security arrangements at sensitive places in the country, the National Security Guard (NSG) would conduct a two-day ‘reconnaissance’ drive at the Srimandir in Puri on August 28 and 29.

In a letter to the Puri Collector Aravind Agrawal with copies to SP Sarthak Sarangi along with Odisha Police IG (Operation) RP Koche, NSG authorities have conveyed the schedule for the visit of its three to four member team to Srimandir and have sought the assistance of a liaison officer during the security review inside the temple. During its visit, the NSG team would make a blueprint for the strategic security arrangements needed during a possible terrorist attack, sources said.

Notably, the NSG team scheduled to visit Srimandri would arrive from its Regional Hub of Hyderabad, which functions in consultation with Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), State Police as well as Intelligence Authorities.
