Nrusinghanath Temple looted in Odisha

Puri: Some unidentified miscreants stole idols, ornaments and cash worth over two lakhs from the famous Nrusinghanath temple at Rendhakhol village under Brahmagiri block in the district on Monday night.

According to the police, idols of lord Nrusinghanath, Radha-Krishna, gold and silver ornaments, cash worth over Rs 2 lakh and other valuables have been stolen from the temple.

The theft is suspected to have taken place around midnight.

The incident came to fore when the priest entered the temple in the wee hours on Tuesday and found the main gate of the temple broken and the sanctum sanctorum open and in disarray.

The priest immediately informed the members of the temple managing committee about the incident and it later lodged a complaint with the local police.
