No-confidence motion against Modi govt: BJD to clear its stand in Lok Sabha

Bhubaneswar: The state ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday clarified that it will clear its stand over the no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government, in Lok Sabha.

“Both the UPA and NDA governments have ignored our long standing demand for special category status and we will make our stand clear in Lok Sabha,” said BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while answering media query.

Adding to Patnaik’s statement, BJD parliamentary party leader Bhartruhari Mahtab said that the conch party will make its stand clear only after introduction of the no-confidence motion against BJP in the House.

The N Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Y S Jaganmohan Reddy-led Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSR Congress Party) were all set to push their notices of no-confidence motion against the Modi government in the Lok Sabha today. However, it was not introduced as the House was adjourned till tomorrow after the members of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and Telangana Rashtra Samithi created ruckus in the house protesting over a host of issues.

On the other hand, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar said that BJP is ready to face the no-confidence motion.
