Niali: After Niali, the fear of mystery animal has shifted to the neighbouring Balipatna block, with one sheep found dead in a local’s cattle shed in Tihuri village under Amannakuda panchayat limit, last night.
The local identified as Benudhar Behera found one sheep dead during an inspection of his cattle shed this morning. The killing pattern of the sheep remained the same with deep nail indentations found on the carcasses. Pug marks of the mystery animal were also found inside the shed.
With today’s incident the number of sheep killed by the mystery animal jumped to 32 in Niali, Kantapada and Balipatna blocks in last one week, after sheep killing returned to the district.
Meanwhile, Banamalipur Police have reached the village and started investigation into the incident.
