Nelson Mandela showed the world the path of perseverance: Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday paid his rich tribute to former President of South Africa Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela on his 100th birth anniversary and called him as teacher of path of perseverance.

Taking to his twitter handle, Patnaik said “Tributes to #NelsonMandela on 100th birth anniversary; he showed the world the path of perseverance by cultivating the values of humanity, secularism and community feeling to empower all of us. #NelsonMandelaInternationalDay.”

Likewise, internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik crafted a beautiful sand art at Puri sea beach.

Later, he shared the photo of the sand sculpture saying “#MandelaDay On the 100 th Birth Anniversary of the great freedom fighter, the Noble Peace Prize winners inspired the World for Democracy and Global Human Right. My Sand Art at Puri Beach, Odisha,India.”

Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader, and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.

He was born at Rolihlahla Mandela on July 18, 1918 and died on December 5, 2013 (aged 95) in
Johannesburg in South Africa.
