Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Odisha Assembly Narasingha Mishra transcended partisan politics on the successful organisation of Asian Athletic Championship-2017 (AAC) which concluded at Kalinga Stadium here on Sunday.
Responding to the statement of the senior Congress leader hailing the Odisha Government on the successful hosting of the mega sports event, Patnaik thanked him and said that the event was all about the pride of the state.
“Glad to note appreciation from Leader of Opposition @NarsinghMishra ji for support for Odisha’s pride. #AAC2017 @bhubaneswar2017,” tweeted the Chief Minister.
Mishra had lauded the state government for successfully conducting the world event within a short span of time.
“Govt. of Odisha deserves appreciation for the successful organization of #AsianAthleticsChampionship. More so when Jharkhand backed out in the last minute putting the country’s prestige at stake,” the Leader of Opposition had said in a post on his Twitter and Facebook pages yesterday.
Mishra had attended the 22nd edition of the sporting event despite rain and felicitated the winners with medals on the third day of the championship on Friday evening.
Appreciation is also pouring in for Odisha from around the globe for conducting the mega event magnificently.
