Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan have been named by Indian Express in its list of the ‘100 Most Powerful Indians’.

Besides these two political stalwarts from Odisha, two other influential persons from the state were also included in the list. They are Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra and Additional Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister PK Mishra.

While CJI Dipak Misra has been placed in the third position in the list, CM Naveen Patnaik is at the 30th spot. Similarly, Dharmendra Pradhan and PK Mishra have been placed at 32nd and 44th place respectively.

“Naveen Patnaik is still the tallest leader in the state with the image of someone who has zero tolerance for corruption. His BJD won a huge mandate in the Bijepur bypoll in February, which many held as a litmus test for the party,” Indian Express stated. “Pradhan is the BJP’s most wellknown face in Odisha, where the party hopes to challenge Naveen Patnaik’s 17-year-rule.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has topped the list followed by BJP President Amit Shah.

Army chief General Bipin Rawat, Industrialist Mukesh Ambani, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Cricketer Virat Kohli and Lawyer Prashant Bhushan have also been named among the most powerful Indians.
