Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah will visit Odisha on the month of July. However, while Shah is to visit Odisha on July 1, the schedule of Modi is yet to be finalized.

Informing bout the development, Odisha BJP Secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said, “Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah will visit Odisha next month.’’

“However, the schedule of the Prime Minister has not yet been confirmed while Shahji will come on July 1 to review party affairs here,” he added.

If sources at the saffron party are to be believed, Modi is most likely to come to Jharsuguda to inaugurate the new airport. He will also address the people and inform them about the works his government has done in the last four years.

Modi had visited the state on May 26 and Shah had come on April 4 this year.

Meanwhile, political talks on BJP’s Odisha focus have been started. However, the opposition parties – BJD and Congress – said that the visit of Modi and Shah will not have any impact in Odisha politics.

“Amit Shah is the President of a political party and Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of the country, therefore they will come here time and again. Who can stop them? They will attack both Congress and BJD as it is their political duty. However, their visit will not have any impact in the state,” said OPCC President Niranjan Patnaik.

Likewise, BJD spokesperson Arun Sahoo said, “Their (BJP) party leaders here are not capable nor the party has become strong. Therefore, their strength lies on the Union leaders. But when people go to vote they will vote only to their own people and they have accepted honourable CM Naveen Patnaik as a leader of their land.”
