Nandankanan to get giraffe from MysuruBhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park authorities on Sunday informed that they will bring a giraffe from Karnataka’s Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden in Mysuru as part of an animal exchange programme.

Speaking to the reporters on the concluding day of the 63rd Wildlife Week today, Nandankanan Zoo director Sisir Kumar Acharya said that the Zoo authorities will bring a giraffe from Mysuru Zoo and will deport chimpanzee Purnima and its baby as part of the animal exchange programme.

The zoo authorities have written to the Central Zoo authorities in this regard, Acharya added.

He further informed that Nandankanan authorities are also mulling over getting a zebra as the lone zebra in the zoo dies on September 24.
