Bhubaneswar: Some unidentified miscreants mercilessly stabbed a man in broad daylight near Vani Vihar Square, one of the crowded locations in the State capital city on Wednesday.
According to reports, the criminals stabbed the man identified as Tulu Bhoi of Rangamatia on his back by chasing him on the busy route in a filmy style. He was attacked while he was waiting for a bus.
Bhoi was rescued in a pool of blood by some people along with the Saheed Nagar police and rushed him to the Capital Hospital.
The Commissionerate Police, from its preliminary investigation, assumed that Tulu Bhoi was attacked over business rivalry.
Police have initiated an investigation into the case. However, the incident terrorised the by-passers and raised question marks over the law and order situation in the busy locations of the city like Vani Vihar Square, which is a hand-shaking distance from the the office of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Saheed Nagar police station in the city.
