Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre on Sunday issued thunderstorm alert for nine districts in Odisha.
Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati are the nine districts where the weatherman has sounded thunderstorm alert from 3 PM to 7 PM today.
Latest Doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph likely to occur over these districts, said a release issued by the Bhubaneswar-based MeT office.
People of these districts have been asked to be vigilant and shelter themselves in some safe locations.
