Bhubaneswar: An MBBS student of Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital was found hanging inside the hostel room under mysterious circumstances on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Nihar Ranjan Rout of 3rd year of Soro in Balasore district.
Though the exact reason behind the death of Rout, who was found hanging in his hostel room at around 10.30 PM, is yet to be known his parents have alleged that he has been murdered. They lodged a complaint with the Mancheswar Police. They alleged that Nihar was under too much stress as he was being pressurised by the college to pay money to compensate for the poor marks he had obtained in the recently concluded exams.
Meanwhile, Mancheswar police has initiated an investigation into the matter by sending Rout’s body for postmortem.
