Malkangiri: Maoists strike terror once again by killing a tribal youth branding him as police informer in Dhuraguda village under Phulwadi police limits in Sukma district of neighbouring Chhattisgarh here last night.

The slain youth has been identified as Patel Durod Hansda of Dhuraguda village.

A group of at least 15-20 heavily armed Maoists barged into Hansda’s house in the wee hours of night and dragged him out at the gun point, dubbing as police informer. The red rebels held a ‘Praja Court’ in a nearby forest after taking Hansda there and killed him by slitting throat.

Maoists left several posters near the body of the deceased, warning villagers of the same fate in case they opt to be police informers.

Sukma Police suspects the role of the South Bastar Divisional Committee of outlawed CPI (Maoist) group in the incident and has intensified combing in and around the area. It said the red rebels had earlier threatened Hansda suspecting him to be a police informer.
