Malkangiri: People were left in a state of panic after Maoist posters issuing warnings against the corrupt government officials resurfaced in Chitrakonda block in the district on Tuesday.

Red posters released in the name of Kalimela Area Committee of outlawed CPI (Maoist) group and put up on the walls at several places including Badenga Square and Gunthabeda Square under Kalimela Tehsil were spotted by some locals in the morning. These posters were seen categorically highlighting the alleged irregularity prevailing in the Rural Development Department.

As per a poster put up on the wall of a bus stop at Badenga Square, the red rebels have expressed their dissatisfaction over the functioning of the Rural Development Department JE and SDO. Accusing the duo of carrying out substandard works under various projects in the district by taking Percentage Commission (PC) from Contractors, Maoists threatened them to punish in ‘Praja Court’ in the coming days.

Police have started combing operation in the Chitrakonda cut-off area and adjoining places following the incident.
