Khordha: A middle aged woman was strangled to death by her husband over a family feud in Kakarudrapur village under Balianta Police Station area in the district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Mamina Mallick.
Mamina who lived with his husband in Mallick Sahi in the village reportedly indulged in a verbal duel with the latter over some issue in the night yesterday. Though the couple went to sleep after a brief fight, the husband identified as Chhabindra Mallick took out his towel in the wee hours of the night and in a fit of rage strangled the victim to death by wrapping it tightly around her neck.
The incident came to light after the couple’s family members found Mamina’s body lying on the bed in the house and informed the Balianta Police.
Police have sent the body for postmortem after reaching the spot. They are also trying to trace the accused husband who is absconding following the murder.
