Keonjhar: A man hacked his wife to death over a family feud in Kharaba village under Harichandanpur police limits in the district last night.
The deceased woman has been identified as Kankad Mallar of the same village.
A verbal duel erupted between the deceased and her husband Jethu Mallar late in the night yesterday over some issue and later escalated into a heated argument. In a fit of rage the accused took out an axe kept in the house and started hacking his wife.
The accused fled from the spot after his wife bled profusely and died on the spot following the attack.
Police reached the spot in the morning today after getting intimation on the incident and seized the dead body for autopsy.
An investigation is underway to nab the absconding accused.
