Kabisuryanagar: A man brutally hacked his son-in-law to death over suspected family feud in Jhadabai village under Kabisuryanagar police limits in Ganjam district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Manu Reddy of Raulabandha village.
The murder took place late in the night on Friday after a heated argument erupted between the deceased and his father-in-law Jagannath Reddy over a petty issue. As the argument escalated later in the night, Jagannath took out a sword kept in the house and hacked the deceased on his head, killing him on the spot.
After the incident came to fore in the morning, Kabisuryanagar Police reached village and arrested the accused. They also seized the sword used in the murder and rushed the body for post-mortem.
A case under Section 302 of IPC has been registered against the accused father-in-law and a probe is underway.
