Phulbani: A man sustained critical burn injury after fire broke out at his house in Landagaon village under Baliguda police limits in Kandhamal district last night.
The injured has been identified as Biranchi Bag.
Sparks erupted at Biranchi’s house late in the night while he was asleep. Till his family members came to know about the blaze and launched firefighting efforts, Biranchi’s room had completely been engulfed by flames. While, the victim managed to save his life by coming out of the room through the window, till then he had sustained 90 percent burn injury.
The victim was rushed to Balangir Medical immediately after the incident and later shifted to VIMSAR in Burla due to deteriorating condition.
While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, police have reached the spot and carrying out an investigation into the incident.
