Bhawanipatna: A man was brutally bludgeoned to death by a fellow trader over business rivalry and past enmity in Alabula village under Narla police limits in Kalahandi district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Duryodhan Gouda alias Sadhu Gouda, a brick kiln owner.
The incident took place at around 8 PM in the night yesterday while Duryodhan along with a friend Jaya Gouda was busy in a tete-a-tete near the house of the latter while basking by a bonfire. During light talks between the two a misunderstanding occurred over brick-kiln business in the village. In a fit of rage Jaya took out a bludgeon from his home and thrashed Duryodhan brutally. Later on Jaya’s father Rajendra Gouda also joined him and killed the victim on the spot.
Narla Police arrested the father-son duo reaching the village after the deceased’s family lodged a complaint against them later in the night.
Police said the accused had a business rivalry with the victim.
