Kunduli Gang rape: Congress begins protest march today

kunduli gangrapeKoraput: Opposition Congress on Tuesday began its two-day long protest march from the Musaguda village, the native village of gang rape survivor, in the district in a bid to pressure the state government to arrest all the accused involved in the Kunduli gang rape case.

The foot march named as “Deomalire Nirbhaya Sandesh” would conclude at the DIG office in the district headquarters tomorrow.

Koraput MLA Krushna Sagaria and Nabarangpur MP Pradeep Majhi led the protest march. OPCC president Prasad Harichandan also joined the march

“We demand stringent action against the accused involved in the crime as well as compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the victim”, said Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati..

It is to be mentioned that gang rape survivor was abducted and brutally gang raped allegedly by a group of security personnel in uniform, while she was returning from Kunduli haat on October 10.

The police have already marked the heinous crime as a ‘Red Flag Case’ (a sensational case of crime against women which is dealt with top priority).
