Koraput: The district police detained as many as four suspected persons in connection with the recent Kunduli gang rape case on Sunday night, sources said.
However, Koraput MLA Krushna Sagaria and senior Congress leader and former Nabarangpur MP Pradeep Majhi alleged that police had detained innocent villagers only for its sake of duty.
The Koraput district Congress also observed a seven-hour bandh today in the district to press its demand to arrest the accused at the earliest.
A class IX class student of Sorisapadar village under Potangi police limits in Koraput district was allegedly gang raped by four security personnel while returning from the Kunduli Haat (market) on October 10 which had created a huge public outcry.
