Kandhamal Conjoined Twins: Jaga to be discharged soon

New Delhi: Jaga, one of the separated conjoined twins of Kandhamal district, will be discharged from AIIMS, New Delhi soon. This was informed by sources at the hospital.

Earlier, Jaga, who had shown massive improvement in his health condition, was seen walking, dancing, listening to music and playing with balls. He was also seen eating his own food.

The sources also informed that Balia’s health condition is also improving considerably.

The twins, who were conjoined at head, were separated after two phases of operation. While the first phase operation was conducted on August 28, the second phase separation surgery was conducted on October 25. Anesthesiologists Ashok Kumar Mahapatra had led the team of doctors who conducted the surgery.

Their separation surgery was possible only after Odisha government came to their rescue following Kalinga TV’s report on the plight of the sons of Bhuiya Kanhar and Puspanjali Kanhar of Milipada village in Kandhamal district.
