Kalarabanka Kalinga English Medium School celebrates 11th Annual Day

Jagatsinghpur: The Kalinga English Medium School of Kalarabanka smart village in the district celebrated its 11^th Annual Day amid much fanfare and presence of telly and cine stars on Friday.

The celebration which started early in the evening was graced by Sanskruti Mitra Award recipient and editor of popular Odia magazines, ‘The Kadambini’ and ‘The Kunikatha’ Dr. Iti Samanta. Samanta who also happens to be the Secretary of the school encouraged the children all through the celebration.

Odia Cine star Chandan and actress Bhumika joined the occasion as honourable guests, expressed their happiness in getting to mingle with the children of an English medium school which exists at the heart of the lone smart village in the state. They amused the young hearts present at the event with their beautiful dialogue delivery skills and amazing piece of acting.

“It is really surprising that one such smart village and a school exists in the rural belt of Odisha. One can find banks, ATMs, Wi-Fi, street lights and all other modern amenities over here. The credit for it goes to the founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr Achyuta Samanta. Rest of the states should take it as an example to develop other villages,” said Ollywood actor Chandan.

The team of Kalinga TV’s ‘Dekh Khabar Rakh Nazar’ comedy show which earned accolades recently for receiving 5^th State Tele Awards also attended the function and entertained the children of the school.

“I am very happy to be in Kalarabanka village which has earned the reputation of being the only smart village of the state. One can find all modern facilities over here which is otherwise available in a modern town. Getting an opportunity to join Kalinga English Medium School’s 11^th Annual Day celebration is absolutely amazing,” said Satya Ranjan Mishra of Dekh Khabar Rakh Nazar fame.

An award distribution ceremony was also held during the Annual Day celebration in which honourable guests presented citations and trophies to successful students of the school for their achievements in various competitions.
