In a big development, the Odisha Government has suspended the Internet services in Kendrapara for 48 hours starting from 3 PM today in the wake of some social media postings, which triggered tensions in the area.
Earlier, the Kendrapara Collector had written a letter to the Special Secretary in the Home Department, seeking a two-day ban on Intenet services to stop the rumor mongers from creating further tensions in the region.
5 platoons of police force have been deployed in Kendrapara town to prevent any untoward incident.
Only recently, social media posting triggered violence and arson as well communal tension in Bhadrak, disturbing peace and harmony in the region. So, the Odisha Govt is not taking any chances and taking all precautionary steps to keep the situation under control.
