Inspection of petrol pumps conducted in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: In a step against fuel adulteration and theft, a team of district administration officials inspected filling stations here on Friday and checked the quality of fuel sold.

The inspection was conducted by a joint team of district administration, Civil Supply and Legal Metrology officials in the presence of a Magistrate in the morning, following an order for the same from Malkangiri Sub Collector Lingaraj Panda.

“At least three squads of officials took part in the inspection and thoroughly checked fuel density, stock presence, adherence to ‘no helmet no petrol’ rule, fire protection system and chips of dispensers at the petrol pumps. Functionality of other ancillary facilities available at the pumps including toilet and drinking water were also checked,” said Ajay Kumar Bhoi, Magistrate.

The next course of action against the petrol pumps flouting norms would be decided after submission of the inspection report to Malkangiri SDJM later in the day today.
