Sambalpur: The district police conducted raid on a house at Daleipada village under the town police limits and busted an illegal arms racket here today.
Informing about the raid in a press meet, Northern Range DIG, Satyabrata Bhoi said that a special police team has arrested one Mohammed Zahin Khan during the raid and seized five firearms and 12 bullets from the spot during the raid.
Khan, against whom several cases are pending with different police stations across Sambalpur district, was allegedly supplying firearms illegally in the city since a long time.
We are interrogating the accused to ascertain from where he was importing the guns and supplying those to the clients, Bhoi added.
