New Delhi: Odisha’s Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) received the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar-2017 on the occasion of National Sports Day at Rashtrapati Bhawan here on Tuesday.
President Ramnath Kovind gave away the award to the IDCO for successfully hoisting the 22nd Asian Athletics Championship. IDCO Chairman-cum-Managing Director Sanjay Kumar Singh received the award on behalf of the organisation.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the State PSU on winning the award.
“Globally recognised #AAC2017 would not have been possible without IDCO’s efforts to get the infrastructure ready in record 90 days,” Patnaik had said in a Twitter message adding IDCO has a key role in nurturing talents & popularising hockey as promoters of Kalinga Lancers – the only state PSU owned team in Hockey India League.
