HLCA approves 10 projects including 10 MT Steel Plant by JSW

HLCA approves 10 ProjectsBhubaneswar: The High Level Clearance Authority Committee (HLCA) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Secretariat approved as many as 10 projects with an investment of Rs 1.10L crore including 10 MPTA steel plants by JSW.

As many as 46,054 people are expected to get jobs in the 10 projects.

The 10 MPTA steel plant by JSW may come up at POSCO project site in Jagatsinghpur with an investment of Rs 50,000 Cr, which is expected to generate 30,000 jobs.

The NLC Thermal Power Plant in Jharsuguda is one of the projects, which got the approval of HLCA. Rs 23,569.60 Cr will be invested in the project, which would create 3,320 jobs.

HLCA also cleared 5.50 MTPA Plant by Bhushan Power & Steel Ltd in Jharsuguda at Rs 4,252.40 Cr. Around 900 jobs will be generated due to this project.

Similarly, the HLCA cleared the expansion of Paradeep Phosphate Ltd (PPL) Urea Plant at a cost of Rs 9,459.17 Crore that will provide jobs to 2,667 people and the 30 MTPA JSW Slurry Pipeline project from Joda to Paradip at Rs 3,700 Crore with an aim of 300 jobs.

The other project which was approved during the meeting was the expansion of NALCO Smelter Plant at Rs 10,000 Crore. This would crate 5,700 employment opportunities.

The expansion of NALCO Refinery at Rs 4,357.20 Cr with 1,462 employment opportunities, was also approved by the HLCA. The plant will be set up at Damonjodi.

NMDC Pellet Plant and OCL Cement Expansion were also approved during the meeting at Rs 1,810.00 Cr and 1994.98 Cr investments.  These projects will have 850 and 365 employment potentials in Dhamra and Rajgangpur respectively.

Moreover, the Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd was also got green signal of the HCLA to set up its project at Paradip with an investment of Rs 1,750 Cr, which may help 440 people to get employments.

Ministers Niranjan Pujari, Prafulla Malick, Sushant Singh, Chief Secretary,  IAS Sanjiv Chopra, PK Jena and Manoj Ahuja were present during the meeting.
