Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Saturday busted a high-profile sex racket at H2O Spa in Bapuji Nagar area of the state capital city.
Acting on the allegation of the flesh trade under the guise of spa services, the Quick Action Team of the city police raided the H2O Spa and rescued eight Thai women and arrested seven persons.
Sources at the police also informed that some objectionable items were also recovered by the cops during the raid.
While the rescued women will be sent to short-stay home, the arrested person will be forwarded to the court.
Meanwhile, efforts are on to conduct the embassy of Thailand to inform about the sex racket. Police are also investigating the visas used by the Thai girls to reach India.
Cops are also searching for the owner of the Spa.
The Twin City Police had earlier yesterday busted a sex racket operating in Gajapati Nagar area under Sahidnagar police limits of and rescued two sex workers.
Police had also detained three women from Thailand for operating a sex racket in a clandestine manner from a Spa centre in the city last year.
Likewise, police had also busted a sex racket and rescued a girl of Kyrgyzstan from an apartment in Chandrasekharpur area here on March.
