Hello Aarsi wins Best Odia Film in 65th National Film Awards

New Delhi: The juries for the 65th National Film Awards, headed by director Shekhar Kapur, announced the awards for the different categories here on Friday.

‘Hello Aarsi’ has been announced as the Best Odia Feature film this year. It also bagged the ‘Special Mention Award’, the director of the movie Sambit Mohanty bagged the ‘Best Dialogue Award’ posthumously. The movie has been produced by Ajay Routray.

The film was earlier named as ‘Pakhilagna’. The film stares Partha Sarathi Ray and Prakruti Mishra.

“Hello Aarsi is a metaphorical movie. It starts and ends with a car journey,” said actress Prakruti Mishra, who played a key role in the movie.

Commenting on ‘Hello Aarsi’ filmmaker Shekhar Kapur said, “If I try to make that film, I will fail”.

CM Naveen Patnaik also congratulated the team after the announcement of the awards.

Among other categories, veteran actor Vinod Khanna won the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award posthumously.

Sridevi has been named for the Best Actor (Female) award for the movie ‘MOM’ while Riddhi Sen has won the Best Actor (Male) award for Bengali film Nagarkirtan.

The National Film Awards will be presented by President Ram Nath Kovind on May 3, 2018.
