Angul: A man was killed on the spot while two others were critically injured in a head-on collision between two trucks on National Highway (NH) 55 near Maratira village under Jarpada police limits in the district early this morning.
The deceased person is yet to be identified. Some locals rescued the injured persons and rushed them to Angul District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
Both the trucks have been badly damaged in the collision. A bulldozer was engaged to remove the damaged vehicles from the spot.
Jarpada police has begun an investigation into the matter. The cops have sent the body of the deceased person to the hospital for postmortem.
