Guard of Honour for Martyred CRPF Jawan Manoranjan Lenka at Bhubaneswar Airport

Bhubaneswar: Martyred CRPF jawan Manoranjan Lenka, who was among the 9 who lost their lives in an IED blast triggered by Maoists in Sukma district of Chhattishgarh on Tuesday, was given a guard of honour at the Biju Patnaik Airport when his mortal remains reached here in a special plane today little while ago.

Senior Ministers of Odisha Government Bikram Keshari Arukha, Shashi Bhusan Behera, Badri Narayan Patra paid tribute to the martyr.

CRPF IGP Kamal Kant Sharma, Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi, several police personnel and others also paid their homage to the martyr.

On arrival, the martyr’s body was placed on a stage with full honours. A pin drop silence prevailed amid a poignant scene at the airport. Seeing the mortal remains, the kin of the martyrs started wailing. Tears rolled down the eyes of many people gathered at the airport to pay respect to the martyr jawan.

Later, the body of the martyr was taken to his native place Rebana Nuagaon village under Brahmagiri block in Puri distrct.

The last rites of the martyr will be held at his native village in this afternoon.
