Keonjhar: Tension ran high in Keonjhar town today morning after dead body of a Works Department Cashier was found floating in a roadside drain near Dharanidhar Square under Town police limits.
The deceased has been identified as Laxmidhar Majhi.
Some commuters first spotted Majhi’s body in the drain this morning and called up police which recovered it reaching the spot.
Majhi who worked in Works Department and lived in Keonjhar Town went missing after leaving his government quarter last night. His family members could not trace him despite a frantic search latter in the night.
Town Police has started an investigation in the case after sending the body for postmortem. It said a foul play can’t be ruled out.
