New Delhi: In what could be considered as a good news for the well-wishers of Kandhamal’s separated conjoined twins Jaga and Balia, they are returning from AIIMS-Delhi soon.

According to sources, the surgeons have now removed the stitches from their heads and their discharge process has already begun.

The twins are undergoing treatment in the hospital since their two phases of successful separation surgeries on August 28 and October 25 last year.

Jaga and Balia were born to Pushpanjali Kanhara and Bhuiya Kanhara on April 9, 2015 at Milipada village in Kandhamal district. They had a tough time to lead a normal life as they were conjoined on their heads.

However, their snags came to light after Kalinga TV aired a special programme on them in its ‘Kalinga Bandhu’ programme first on November 2016 and then on June 7, 2017. Following the airing of the program, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took initiative and sanctioned Rs 1 Crore from the CM’s Relief Fund for the twins’ surgery.

All their well-wishers had offered special prayers for their speedy recovery on different occasions in several places of the state and outside the state. Some of them even had donated some money for their treatment.
