Bhawanipatna: An 18-year-old girl under Junagarh police limits in Kalahandi district of Odisha was allegedly kidnapped and gangraped by three persons on March 31. The accused also reportedly filmed the incident and made the video viral on social media, the victim said on Friday.
The victim girl lodged an FIR at Junagarh police station today seeking justice in this regard.
“According to the FIR, three youths abducted the victim on last Saturday while she was returning from the Sani temple near Bhatraguda village and took her to the nearby forest area. Then, they forced her to drink alcohol, gangraped her and filmed the incident, “said Junagarh police official Rajendra Kumar Dehuri.
“Later, the accused allegedly made the video viral on social media,” he added. “The accused were known to the victim as she mentioned their name in her FIR as Chittaranjan Guru, Mukund and Sushant.”
While talking to Kalinga TV, the victim said, “Though the incident occurred on last Saturday, I kept quite fearing it might create a bad name in the society.”
The victim also alleged that the accused trio have started to blackmail her.
“They called me yesterday and threatened me that they would make the video recording viral, if I failed to fulfil their sexual desire,” the victim said. “Their repeated calls forced me to reveal the facts to my family members and lodge police complaint.”
Meanwhile, the Junagarh police have started investigation into the matter.
“Investigation has begun in the matter; appropriate action will be taken against the accused,” Police said.
