Ganja worth over 35 lakh seized from fish laden truck in Odisha

Nabarangpur: The unique means of ganja transportation was foiled by the district police on Tuesday. Acting on a tip off, a team of Nabarangpur police under the led by IIC Rashmiranjan Pradhan and ASI Sarup Kishan waylaid a fish laden truck near Chiliki river here and seized ganja weighing around 15 quintals.

The ganja was packed in 42 packets and kept hidden under the fish baskets. Police said the seized cannabis would cost over 35 lakhs.

The truck bearing registration number AP-05-TB 8449 was on its way to Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh from Chitrakonda area of Malkangiri district.

Police have detained driver of the vehicle Madhab Hantal and helper Damburu Sunabasia and started an investigation in this connection.
