Sameer MohantyBhubaneswar: Criticizing the Odisha Government’s apathetic attitude towards the legitimate demands of Anganwadi, Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS), Large Area Multipurpose Society (LAMPS) workers and AYUSH doctors in the state, the BJP Odisha unit has demanded immediate fulfillment of the demands.

Taking a dig at the BJD government in Odisha during a press conference held in the city this morning, BJP Odisha vice president Sameer Mohanty claimed that it is due to the inefficiency and incapability of the state government in dealing with the problems of Anganwadi, PACS and LAMPS employee that women, children and small farmers in the rural areas are paying a heavy price. Healthcare has been seriously affected in the rural areas because of the resentment of AYUSH doctors, he added.

Dubbing the longstanding pay hike demand of the Anganwadi, PACS and LAMPS employees to be legitimate, Mohanty said their counterparts in the neighbouring states are already earning higher. He mocked at state cooperative minister Surya Narayan Patro by saying clamping ESMA is not a solution to the issue.

Terming the 70,000 Anganwadi workers in the state as catalyst in the success of various schemes aimed at mother and child care, the state BJP has appealed to the government to focus on their issues without any delay. The party also said AYUSH doctors are the backbone of rural healthcare machinery ans their greivances need immediate attention.

The state BJP has extended its support to the legitimate demands of the Anganwadi, PACS, LAMPS and AYUSH doctors in the coming days.
