Former Dhenkanal MLA Nabin Nanda goes missing in Kolkata

Dhenkanal: Former Dhenkanal MLA Nabin Nanda has gone missing while on a visit to Kolkata in the neighbouring West Bengal district, informed his family members on Sunday.

Informing to Kalinga TV on the issue Nanda’s son Sambit Nanda said, his father left for Kolkata on Thursday and was in contact with his family till Friday. However, the family members failed to establish any connection with him since yesterday.

Sabmit who flew to Kolkata to search his father today has also filed a missing case in a police there in connection with the incident.

Nabin was scheduled to return Bhubaneswar today, informed his family.

Nabin had been elected to the Odisha Assembly from Gondia Constituency in BJD ticket in the year 2000 and again from Dhenkanal Constituency in the year 2004 in NCP ticket.

He survived an attack on his life during a people contact programme in Karmul under Gondia block Dhenkanal district on June 4 this year after a group of miscreants targeted his SUV with bombs. Nanda alleged political vendetta behind the attack at that time and claimed some rival BJD leaders’ hand in it.
