Bhadrak: Tension ran high in Mandari village under Chudamani police limits in the district on Friday after dead body of a fisherman was recovered from a nearby fishing jetty.
The deceased has been identified as Abhiram Mallick, son of Krushna Mallick of the same village.
As per the family of the deceased, he visited Chudmani fishing jetty last night along with a friend namely Upendra Mallick at around 4 PM. He slipped into the water while fishing and got swept away into the sea at around 12 midnight.
Family members of the deceased came to know about the incident from Upendra late in the night and launched a frantic search in the jetty. However, the body of the deceased was recovered by some fishermen after it stuck to their nets this morning.
Chudamani Marine Police has seized the body for autopsy and lodged a case in the incident.
