Sundergarh: Acting on the allegation of financial irregularity, Vigilance officials arrested three government employees including a BDO of Lathikata block in the district on Saturday.
The arrested public servants have been identified as Lathikata BDO Purna Chandra Bhoi, Additional Executive Engineer (AEE) Raj Kishor Sahu and Additional Engineer (AE) Budheswar Sahoo.
A rural road was constructed at a cost of Rs 1.32 crore in the Lathikata block in 2017. However, the accused had syphoned off government money of Rs 42 lakh and had extended favour to a particular construction agency by assigning them the work without inviting tender.
As many as 17 Vigilance officials had conducted simultaneous raids at four places including the offices and residences of the three government officials yesterday.
